We're Back in the States!
We said goodbye to Germany and our little life there last month and moved back to the States. If any of you have ever moved (whether it was down the street or to a totally new place) you know it's always bittersweet. Excitement for the new adventure, but lots of sadness when it comes to saying goodbye and closing such a big chapter.
TWENTY EIGHT | Contemporary Art Hotel
When we arrived to Twenty Eight, we were immediately in love with the decor and design. The space was classy yet modern and had such a bold, eclectic feel about it that still remained inviting. The staff greeted us excitedly and gave us the grand tour. Which was quite grand if I do say so myself.
Our living room & dining nook
We built out our dining nook during COVID and it was such perfect timing. This little space has been great to work from (love the white backdrop for Zoom calls), perfect spot to host family and friends for dinner and Michael and I love having a glass of wine and talking through our days in our little nook in the evenings.
Staying at Brannan Cottage Inn, Calistoga
Napa Valley is filled with beautiful towns and so much to offer. If you’re looking for a spot to use as your home base as you explore wine county, then I can’t recommend this quaint hotel enough. The location, quaint patio space, and comfy rooms are already calling me back for a second visit.
23 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco, has topped my list of places to see for quite some time now. I've been mesmerized by the beautiful blue buildings, small streets, and colorful culture that Chefchaouen provides. As a photographer, it's one of those dream places that you really cannot take too many photos of. Walking through the blue streets, I had to stop myself and soak it all in from time to time. It's truly one of the most gorgeous cities I've seen in person.
Camping at Max Patch, North Carolina | All You Need to Know
Max Patch is still one of the most magical places I've visited. Even after traveling to the Maldives, hiking through the Agafay Desert in Morocco, and summiting Schrecksee in the German Alps — Max Patch still stands out amidst those magical spots.
Even though I am not the most outdoorsy person in the world, I always enjoy a night under the stars at Max Patch.
One Dress, Two Ways
If you can’t think of three places to put the piece of furniture, then don’t buy it.
And I’ve started applying that to my wardrobe and what a game changer it’s been. Now, if I can’t think of three different occasions, seasons, or places I would wear something it’s a “no-go”. Luckily, this little number surpassed my three places rules by far. Not only can I wear it on a date night with Michael, to a wedding, or grabbing a drink with friends, but I can also wear it from summer to fall. I tried it on with a large, chunky sweater and black boots — hello fall wardrobe!
Light and Breezy Summer White Two Piece Set
This two-piece set came into the mail this week, and I knew I’d have to share it with you guys ASAP, especially before it’s sold out. Luckily, Zara does a great job of restocking new items, so although there aren’t too many sizes right now, I’m sure they’ll restock soon. Sizing is not TTS. Which is a rarity for Zara, but in this case, this set runs big. I purchased an XS in both the bottoms and top, and they fit, but very loose. Granted, that is the look they are going for here!
Chattanooga Home Tour
Although we no longer live in this sweet little home under Lookout Mountain, I still wanted to share all the TLC I put into this house. Plus, it was the first house we ever truly owned, and we had so many great memories there! Besides, most the furniture we kept, and if we didn’t, it wasn’t because I didn’t love, it’s just when ya move to the city a girl has to downsize.
Wild One Dog Kit Review
Although I could talk about my dog and his cute collar for days, I'll keep this short and simple. The Wild One kit has not only upped Frankie's style game but also helped us not look like horrible dog parents walking him around on a tattered leash! It's durable, stylish, and looks super cute hanging up in our condo. Instead of buying a new cloth leash each year, we’ll have this one much longer (saving us $$ in the long run).
The Perfect High-Waisted Denim Shorts
Well, here I am at the ripe age of 26 and I found myself smelling way too much of that Fierce cologne trying to find the perfect pair of high-waisted denim shorts for our trip to Mexico. I had seen another blogger wearing these super cute shorts and when I found out they were from Abercrombie, I was like, “eww”, then I realized I need to stop being so prematurely judgy and just try them out. When you need shorts in a pinch, you do what you gotta do.
Staying at Nahouse Airbnb in Tulum, Mexico
If you’ve been thinking about traveling to Tulum, then you know that the hardest part about planning this gorgeous getaway is finding the perfect spot to stay. I think I spent two weeks going through Airbnb listings before settling on Nahouse. Also, things go quick, so waiting too many weeks to book your stay isn’t recommended!
Camping at Snooper's Rock | Chattanooga
We drove to Snoopers rock after a long work day and arrive 1 hour before sunset. We didn’t really have a plan; per usual. However, we just winged it and it all worked out. We camped out at Davis Pond and it was pretty busy (granted it was Labor Day weekend). Next time we go, we’ll try to hike to our camping spot so it’s more quiet, but if you’re looking for a quick and easy campsite I definitely recommend David Pond.
Pear Tepache Prosecco Cocktail Recipe
I had a lot of fun experimenting with this recipe and leaning on a few recipes I found online but added my own twist to it! I’m definitely not an expert bartender or cocktail maker but had to pat myself on the back for how delicious this one. Definitely worth trying! The addition of cinnamon makes it feel very festive as well.
The Most Relaxing Weekend Away: Mother Goose Hotel
Mother Goose Hotel located in Utrecht, the Netherlands is one of the dreamiest and coziest places I've stayed in to date. Upon arriving to this small, boutique hotel in the heart of Utrecht, I knew I was going to fall in love. This chic space feels like a super trendy B&B with modern amenities, lots of privacy, and such a unique flare.
What to Expect When Sailing the Greek Islands
The Greek Islands were everything I dreamed they would be and more. The atmosphere and landscape was picturesque, the people were extremely kind, and the food was to die for. I went in hoping it would be a trip of a lifetime and it really was. Sailing allowed us to see so much more of the islands than we would have otherwise and gave us a whole new perspective.

2018 Travel Bucket List
With 2017 coming to an end, I am in the midst of planning 2018 travels and it's got me daydreaming like crazy. When we first moved to Germany, I was mostly focused on traveling within Europe. I figured, who knows how long we will live here -- let's take advantage of the places we can get to! For 2018, I am still wanting to check off a few places in Europe, but would love to see other parts of the world.
