One Dress, Two Ways
If you can’t think of three places to put the piece of furniture, then don’t buy it.
And I’ve started applying that to my wardrobe and what a game changer it’s been. Now, if I can’t think of three different occasions, seasons, or places I would wear something it’s a “no-go”. Luckily, this little number surpassed my three places rules by far. Not only can I wear it on a date night with Michael, to a wedding, or grabbing a drink with friends, but I can also wear it from summer to fall. I tried it on with a large, chunky sweater and black boots — hello fall wardrobe!
Light and Breezy Summer White Two Piece Set
This two-piece set came into the mail this week, and I knew I’d have to share it with you guys ASAP, especially before it’s sold out. Luckily, Zara does a great job of restocking new items, so although there aren’t too many sizes right now, I’m sure they’ll restock soon. Sizing is not TTS. Which is a rarity for Zara, but in this case, this set runs big. I purchased an XS in both the bottoms and top, and they fit, but very loose. Granted, that is the look they are going for here!
Wild One Dog Kit Review
Although I could talk about my dog and his cute collar for days, I'll keep this short and simple. The Wild One kit has not only upped Frankie's style game but also helped us not look like horrible dog parents walking him around on a tattered leash! It's durable, stylish, and looks super cute hanging up in our condo. Instead of buying a new cloth leash each year, we’ll have this one much longer (saving us $$ in the long run).
The Perfect High-Waisted Denim Shorts
Well, here I am at the ripe age of 26 and I found myself smelling way too much of that Fierce cologne trying to find the perfect pair of high-waisted denim shorts for our trip to Mexico. I had seen another blogger wearing these super cute shorts and when I found out they were from Abercrombie, I was like, “eww”, then I realized I need to stop being so prematurely judgy and just try them out. When you need shorts in a pinch, you do what you gotta do.
Curly Hair Tutorial: "My Wash & Go"
My curly hair has always been something I struggled with. Growing up bi-racial, my mom had no idea how to style or deal with my crazy curly hair. After 25 years of having curly hair, I can proudly say I know how to brush and style my locks. Getting my curls to where they are today was no easy task.
Covering Acne & Scars Makeup Tutorial
Until I find a magic potion or solution, make-up is my go-to way to feel more confident in my acne-prone and scarred skin. I am super passionate about the power of make-up and how it can make a person feel (especially someone with bad acne and unruly skin). I know there are so many strong opinions on make-up out there. I totally understand both sides, but for me, this is what works!
Life in Germany 001
Welcome to my first series of "Life in Germany", this will be a monthly update of any and all things Germany. It's an idea I have had for a while and is long overdue, better late than never?
One of my favorite things about living in Germany is by far the Autobahn. Before I moved to Germany, I thought the Autobahn was just one road somewhere in the middle of Germany. Kind of like a touristy spot where people rented BMWs and drove fast.
The Camera Gear I Always Have in My Bag
My camera goes with me everywhere, I mean everywhere. So, when picking out the right camera, lens, and equipment I wanted to make sure I was absolutely certain before making such a big investment. Also, having lightweight gear was at the top of my list because of all the traveling I do (and who wants to have a sore neck?).
Matcha Tea Latte with Almond Milk Recipe
In college one of my friends introduced me to the Starbucks Green Tea Latte and I have been hooked every since. Sadly, it's taken me 4+ years to finally perfect my own dupe of Starbucks Green Tea Matcha Latte (better late than never). This recipe is easy, super delicious, and the perfect treat on a dreary fall afternoon or morning.
The Plant Holder that will Brighten Up Any Space
Today, I wanted to share with you a few photos of our newest piece, this IKEA plant holder. I saw in it stores a few months ago and envisioned my cactus and succulents having the perfect sun spot. Well, a few days later my cactus died and my succulents' lives were coming to an end as well. Who knew you could kill the most resilient plants? My "black thumb", as my husband so kindly said, was out in full force. I prefer to blame the dreary, German weather.
Advice & Tips if You Plan to Move Abroad
Living abroad has been one the most incredible decisions my husband and I made and definitely the most life changing. There are hurdles that come with this new life. But overall, with an encouraging family, a few good friends, preparation, and the right mindset making the transition of living abroad is totally doable!
My Favorite Drugstore Make-up Products
I love a good steal, especially when it comes to make-up. Make-up has always allowed me to be more confident in my own skin. However, finding the right products that suit my skin and don't break the bank at the same time can be a challenge. That's why I wanted to share with you guys my absolute favorite drugstore make-up products.
DIY Wooden Poster Hanger
This was super easy to put together and the supplies are easy enough to find at your local Home Depot/Lowe's or in our case Hagebaumarkt.
My First Month Living in Germany
It’s been a little over one month since we packed our bags and moved to Germany. Looking back on our first week here seems like ages ago in a lot of ways. We've learned so much already, made a handful of mistakes, and embarrassed ourselves more times than I'd like to admit.
East Tennessee Lavender
This weekend, Erin and I decided to head over to the Oak Ridge Farmer's Market, which also included a Lavender Festival. When we arrived in the parking lot, you could smell the lavender from a mile away -- it was glorious. Of course we had to capture the beauty of all the bundles we purchased. Excited to use my new lavender in a recipe!
Make-up: Spring Favorites
Spring is here and so is the humidity. Today, I am sharing with you some of my favorite products, especially to help combat oily skin and give a natural finish. These are my go-to products that I use every day.
