Recipe: Decadent, Delicious Dark Chocolate Banana Bread
Guys, I think I just out did myself.
I could write a novel on how delicious this bread is, how Michael ate 5 pieces as soon as it came out of the oven, and how divine our house has smelled for the past 3 days. However, I am going to spare you those delicious details and let you stair at those pictures. Also, I know you're probably thinking, "bread? this is cake", whatever you want to call it -- it's good.
Dark Chocolate Banana Bread:
Prep: 30 min Bake: 1 hr
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Special Dark Hershey's Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3-4 large ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a loaf pan (I find that my ceramic pan works best for breads). In one large bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking powder & soda, salt, and cinnamon -- set aside. In another large bowl, mix mashed bananas, cooled butter, and the brown sugar, then add eggs, and the vanilla.
Slowly combine your dry mixture with the wet -- do not over mix! Once combined, pour into your buttered loaf pan and put in oven. Have your timer set to 50 minutes, however, my bread needed about 58 minutes to fully cook.
Enjoy!
