Bold & Creative Hotel: Scandic Berlin Review

Scandic Hotel Berlin

When you walk into Scandic Hotel at Kurfüstendamm, you'll immediately notice the bold personality and vibrant art surrounding you in every direction.  Since we immediately checked into our hotel upon arrival, it was such a good first impression of Berlin -- creative & free.

The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, one employee in particular even drew us a map of some shops he thought we would like to see and gave us the best route to get there.  Super kind and thoughtful.  It's the little things like this that make a stay so special.

As you can see above, the rooms are really a piece of work in and of themselves.  Bold paintings by local artist in Berlin, give each room it's own unique flare.  My brother and I even had our own mini photoshoot in front of the mural (you can see his post here).  The fridge was conveniently filled with great wine and beer, but what Scandic really sold me on was the cupcake on the desk.  Why don't more hotels provide a cupcake upon arrival?

Our complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious -- I think this is still in my top five things I love about European Hotels.  The winter garden was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the morning light before a busy day exploring Berlin.  The hotel was very busy, but there were still plenty of options and the staff refilled everything in a super timely manner.

Location of this hotel was good, but it still required a bit of walking on our part to reach the nearest train stop.  However, it was wonderful being able to see parts of the city we wouldn't have otherwise had time to walk through. Plus, after such a hardy breakfast it was nice to get a few steps in for the day.

Scandic Hotel

All in all, we had a fabulous time at Scandic Hotel Berlin.  It was clean, authentic in design, and extremely comfortable.  Would highly recommend this to you if you're looking for something different than your typical, boring hotel.
