A Day at the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

As much as I love to travel, going to the "touristy" spots can ruin a trip for me. However, the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland completely surpassed my expectations and is one of those touristy spots you just cannot miss.

We stood in awe staring at the enormously gorgeous cliffs and feeling so small.  Although I say this about many things, pictures just do not do the Cliffs of Moher justice.  They are absolutely stunning and awe-inspiring. Standing on the edge of Ireland's boarder staring at the Atlantic knowing the next body of land is the United States of America was such a unique and amazing experience.

Upon arrival there are hundreds and hundreds of tourist standing at the entrance of the cliffs with their iPhones, tripods, and DSLRS.  Do not fear, just keep walking up the hill and they will go away! Seriously. I think people just don't like walking an extra five minutes, because within in moments we were out of the crowds and had the cliffs almost to ourselves.

We walked about 6 miles total around the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and the further we got the more quiet and peaceful the views were.  Which is totally worth the long walk to see and appreciate the cliffs.

It's $10/person for entrance and once your on the Cliffs of Moher you can walk freely as you please -- just be careful! I would definitely not bring a small child with me unless they were on a leash (you might think I am joking, but I am not). The cliffs are extremely steep and can be fatal if you are not careful. I don't say that to scare you, only to be aware and prepared before visiting.

Dangers aside, the Cliffs of Moher were absolutely incredible to see in person. They were one of the many highlights in Ireland. It was an unforgettable experience and one that I will forever cherish. If you're in Ireland, I cannot stress enough how worth it is to drive to the west coast and see these beauties!
